My name is Destiny Bernal, this is my second year at Davidson and I love being a Dragon. I have 12 years experience in education working in the High school, Junior High, and Elementary level. I married my high school sweetheart who I have been married to for 15 years. We are the proud parents of 3 wonderful daughters. I studied at St. Thomas University and earned my Master’s of Education in Counseling, and earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from University of Houston-Downtown. I love studying the human mind and behaviors and helping people. This year I have the privilege to support students and teachers as an In class support/Resource teacher and case manager. I can’t wait to meet your children and support them in their academic journey.

My name is Yvette Campassi. I just competed my 30th year in education all in KatyISD. I LOVE teaching Math!!! Currently, I am a math resource teacher at Davidson.  I have tripet daughters who have recently graduated from college. Abby is a labor and delivery nurse in Arkansas, Taylor is a Jr. High ELA 8th grade teacher in KatyISD and Shelby has moved to San Antonio to begin her program for her Physical Therapy doctorate.

Hello! My name is Lynsei Davis, and I’m excited to begin my sixth year at Davidson Elementary!  This year, I have the privilege of serving as our campus’s designated ASIP Educator/Case Manager and one of our Special Education Team Leaders. Prior to this role, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades (all content areas, including ESL and Special Education) in Houston ISD and Katy ISD. I am passionate about learning and helping students become their best selves, which I support through strong relationships, a positive classroom community, and meaningful collaboration with colleagues and families. Outside of work, I am a proud mom of two college-aged daughters and have a beloved dog named Titus James. As a U.S. Navy Veteran, I’m honored to have served my country and fellow service members and continue to serve others through education. After my enlistment, I earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas Woman’s University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, fishing, traveling, relaxing, and spending time with family and friends. I’m looking forward to another amazing school year at KDE!

HI! I am excited to return to Davidson this year as a dyslexia teacher. This will be my 16th year teaching, and I love every year more than the last! I have taught elementary science, 1st grade, 2nd and was a reading specialist. I have a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and English and a Masters in Reading. I have been married to my husband, Ryan, for 22 years and have two daughters, Izzy (16) and Lucy (14). Outside of school, you will find me at one of my daughter's sporting events! I enjoy running, reading, and spending time outdoors with my family. I LOVE to travel and experience new places!

I have lived in the Houston area for 9 years now. I moved from New Mexico where I worked in special education as a paraprofessional. This will be my 6th year at Davidson. I have enjoyed working at Davidson and getting to know the wonderful students and families. I have been married to my husband for 9 years and I have 3 sons (Izaiah-23, Joseph-22, and Kaleb-16). Special education is my passion. I look forward to working with my students every year and look forward to those WOW moments with them. It makes everything I do so much more worth it. I can not wait to see what the new year will bring.

Hi! My name is Shelley Gordon.  I am one of the two campus speech language pathologists (SLP) at Davidson this school year! This is my 16th year in education.  I was a classroom teacher prior to becoming a SLP. I got my bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M, my master’s degree from Texas Woman’s, and am currently working on my doctorate at the University of Houston.  Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, reading, traveling, and watching the Astros.

My name is Courtney Heldenbrand and this is my 6th year as a dyslexia teacher at Davidson Elementary. I previously taught kindergarten for 5 years in Katy ISD. I graduated from high school in Katy and went on to attend Baylor University. I have a bachelor's in elementary education and a masters in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on reading. I love helping students improve their reading skills. I believe that all students are capable of achieving great things. I have been married to my husband, Steven, for 15 years, and we have two boys, ages 9 and 11. I am so excited about a wonderful year of learning and fun in dyslexia class!

My name is Sara Isola and I have worked in Katy ISD for 8 years. This will be my 9th. I have been married for 20 years and I have a son who is 19 who attends Anderson University in South Carolina and plays lacrosse for the school and I have a daughter who is 16, who will be a junior at Tompkins. This will be my 7th year at Davidson!  I also enjoy doing photography and reading when I am not teaching.

Hi! My name is Donna Landthrip, and I am so excited! This will be my third year at KDE. I have three daughters and one sweet granddaughter!  I received my masters degree in Clinical Child Psychology from West Virginia University and have been in education for 8 years. I love spending time with my family, attending musical events, travel, and trying out new restaurants around Katy. I look forward to another great year!

My name is Krystal Lewis, and I am the campus ARD Facilitator. This will be my 8th year at Katy ISD and my 3rd year here at Davidson. I've worn many hats throughout my career in education and have experience throughout multiple positions. However, this one is truly my favorite because I can now advocate for our kids in a new way. I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to continue to work with such a wonderful community and help our Dragons any way I can.

Hello! My name is Emma Massey and this will be my 5th year teaching. This will be my 3rd year in ECSE, but I have experience in Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech Therapy, and I have previously taught in the Life Skills classroom. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child and Family Studies from Baylor University (Sic 'em, Bears!) I have a passion for teaching children with special needs and creating a safe space for them to grow and learn in my classroom. Outside the classroom, you can catch me hanging out with my best friend (a rescued Tibetan/Poodle Terrier named Georgie), reading at the park, booking a flight, baking, drinking coffee, doing yoga, or watching the Astros!

Hi! My name is Laura Ramnarine.  I am one of the two campus Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) at Davidson. This is my 10th year at KDE and 26th year as SLP. I got my bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas and my master’s degree from University of Texas-Pan American.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to witness our incredible Dragons grow as communicators—using their voices to build meaningful connections and positively impact those around them.

Hello KDE Family! I’m Jenny Rodriguez. I serve as a Special Education Teacher in the Autism Support and Intervention Program (ASIP). I was born and raised in Colombia. I have an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science in Management. I have been in education for over 11 years, and every year I oath to support, love and teach each student so they can grow to the best of their ability.

Hello! My name is Mary Clare Welshons, and I am the Special Education Assessment Clerk. This will be my fifth year with Katy ISD, and my second year at Davidson Elementary. I graduated from LSU with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I moved to Katy from Louisiana 6 years ago. I have been married for 21 years, and I have 2 sons who will both be in college this year.
