Hey! My name is Danyel Barnett. This will be my 8th year teaching and my 7th year at KDE. My husband, Matt, and I have two amazing children Jude (11) and Sadie (7). I love building relationships with my students and watching them grow as learners and individuals each year. Outside of school I enjoy art/ collage journalling, reading, playing with my puppy, and finding reasons to drink coffee! I am excited to start another exciting and adventurous year here at KDE!
Hi! My name is Brandy Hernandez. I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. I graduated from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. I earned my bachelor's degree majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. I also earned my Master's Degree in Educational Administration. This will be my 15 year of teaching. It is my 10th year teaching at Davidson Elementary. I have been married to my husband, Gino for 10 years. He is an assistant band director and Tompkins High School. We have a wonderful daughter, Melody (4). We have 3 Mini Schnauzers, Zoe, Ava, and Max. We love visiting our family in Corpus Christi. We love watching movies and relaxing at home. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful community and look forward to another fun year with our second-graders.
Hi! My name is Lauren Joines and I am a second grade teacher. I graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria. This will be my sixth year of teaching and seventh year in second grade at KDE! I am married to my wonderful husband, Michael. We have two sweet boys, Greyson and Graham. Outside of school, I enjoy being a mom, reading, and watching a good tv series. I am so excited for this school year! I can't wait to build my new classroom family and watch my students learn and grow!
Howdy! My name is Ashley Nochlin and I’m proud to say that I’ve been part of the KDE community since we opened 12 years ago. I graduated from Arkansas State University with my Masters in Educational Theory and Practice. My husband & I will be starting our 18th year in teaching. We have 2 beautiful girls; Olivia (9) & Charlotte (6). We love to travel, play games and swim in our pool! I love building relationships with my students and their parents each year! Looking forward to another fabulous school year!
Hi, I'm Rachel Roe. This year will be my 14th year in education. I have a master's degree in Deaf Education, but after taking a few years off to raise my kids, I returned to find that while Deaf Education is interesting and fun, my niche is in the general education classroom. I am also currently a candidate working on a National Board Certification for Professional Teaching Standards. I am married and my husband, Darryl is a Software Engineer. We have a 24-year-old daughter named Chloe'. She is a 5th grade Math teacher at a STEM school in the Grapevine/Colleyville ISD. We also have a 21-year-old son named Colton who is starting his third year of college at The University of Texas at Austin studying physics and astronomy. I have a 12-year-old yorkie poo Sweet Pea, who is tiny with a BIG personality, and a 3-year-old big doxiepoo named Hamilton who waits patiently for me to come home every day. Since my babies aren't babies anymore, each year I put my whole self into my little classroom family. I feel like a new mom at the beginning of every year and am so proud of my little dragons as I send them on to the next grade at the end of the year. Having your student in my class is such a gift in this chapter of my life. I am one lucky wife, mom, teacher, and dog and mom!
